One of my absolute favorite things about being a Portland fashion photographer is discovering cool and talented people who are excited about what they’re making! Val Kasinskas of VK Designs is a truly amazing example of that–she got her start creating custom jewelry designs for clients all over the globe, and now she’s branched out by creating her first collection of jewelry to be sold in fine boutiques: the Dark Sparkle collection!
Val has an inspiring commitment to doing her work ethically–she works only with recycled metals and conflict-free diamonds–and she brings beautiful textures and finishes into all of her work. Her passion for style really came through in the planning process, as we looked through models and inspiration images, and we came up with a rich and sultry look that definitely says Dark Sparkle. We had a lot of fun with this Collection Session, and I can’t wait for our next shoot together.
