We’re more than a little excited about the finalists for the 2013 Portland Fashion & Style Awards! We made it to the PFSA Acknowledgement Party just in time to hear that our very own Sarah Giffrow won the People’s Choice Award for Best Fashion Photographer! (that’s me!) I was nominated for the online vote, and was so incredibly flattered and grateful to everyone who sent their support and voted for me. Now, I get to do the red carpet thing at the PFSA Award Show later this month, and find out if I win the big prize for Best Fashion Photographer. Double-fancy!
What’s really exciting? The rest of the list, because some of our favorite people that we’ve worked with over the past year also made the cut! So, we wanted to give a shout-out to these folks and their wonderful talent–it’s been non-stop fun making fashion photography magic with each of them!
We’ve done several really cool conceptual fashion shoots in 2013 with Bonnie Thor, who’s up for Best Fashion/Wardrobe Stylist:
I’ve loved working with Sabrina Cayne ever since I first started shooting fashion, and now she’s up for Best TV/Film Makeup Artist (!!):
A recent connection of ours, Jennifer Campbell Design, won People’s Choice nomination for Best Accessory Designer with her awesome vintage designs:
AND, the uniquely-spectacular (and ethical!) jewelry of vk designs is also in the Top 4 for Best Accessory Designer!
And last, but certainly not least, the modern fashion designs of Carolyn Hart won People’s Choice for Best Women’s Wear Designer!:
How grateful are we to have worked with such talented people? VERY! There are so many elements to creating a memorable photo for a fashion brand, and working with people like these is an important piece of what makes our work shine. So, give them some love, and cross your fingers for all of us on October 26th, when the category winners are announced!
